[Listen] to Jim Irving, Co-Chief Executive Officer of J.D. Irving, Limited in an interview with CBC radio Fredericton Information Morning show on private wood purchases.

In the last operating year (April 2011 to March 2012), JDI purchased 611,000 cubic metres of NB private wood.  This is the largest volume of private wood we’ve purchased in over 20 years (about $33 million in value).

Today, JDI has averaged 138 truckloads or $250,000 in weekly purchases since the current season began in April. To date, our wood deliveries from private woodlots are over 140 truckloads more than what we purchased during the same time last year.
