Where will I be placed for my work term and full-time employment? 

The location for your co-op work term and full-time employment will depend on the workforce needs at the time of placement.

 

Will the salary be the same at all locations?

Each location has a different rate of pay depending on the respective union's collective agreement or the staff salary scale.

 

How many steps are in the JDI Training Incentive selection process?

There are 8 steps to this selection process: 1) Pre-employment surveys 2) 1st interview 3) Reference and background checks 4) 2nd interview 5) 3rd interview 6) Situational interview 7) Drug test and physical 8) The initial offer

Our JDI Training Incentive Program is not only a financial award, but also includes a work term and full-time employment opportunity. Therefore, the JDI Training Incentive Program Selection Process follows the same steps as the full-time hourly recruitment selection process.

 

Is the incentive award given to me or directly to NBCC/NSCC?

The incentive cheques are made payable to both the student and NBCC/NSCC.

 

Can I apply for more than one award?

Yes, if you meet the criteria, you can apply for more than one award; however, you can only receive one award.

 

What if I am in my second or third year of study and have not applied before?

You are eligible to apply during any year of study as long as you have at least one co-op work-term or work practicum remaining.

 

Can I reapply to the JDI Training Incentive Program?

Students are encouraged to reapply for the JDI Incentive Program if they were not successful in their first application.
