May 15, 2013: Irving Shipbuilding Engages 530+ Potential Suppliers on Opportunities in AOPS Program
Halifax NS -- More than 530 potential suppliers from across Canada gathered in Halifax, Nova Scotia on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 for Irving Shipbuilding’s AOPS Supplier Development Session. Invitations were sent to the almost 2,000 companies included on Irving Shipbuilding’s online supplier registry with the goal of ensuring potential suppliers were informed of business opportunities within the Arctic Offshore Patrol Ship (AOPS) Program, the first set of combat vessels to be built under the federal government’s National Shipbuilding Procurement Strategy (NSPS).[more...]

May 6, 2013: Remembering the Battle of the Atlantic
Irving Shipbuilding Inc. sponsored an event on May 2, 2013 at the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa to recognize those who won the peace during World War II’s Battle of the Atlantic. More than fifty veterans of the Battle of the Atlantic were honoured at the gala dinner, which was organized by the Naval Association of Canada and the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN).[more...]

A Growing Commitment to Our Customers

May 3, 2013:  KENT Building Supplies has awarded the contract for a new distribution centre to Maxim Construction, an employee-owned company based in Atlantic Canada.  Work started this month on the 385,000 square-foot building located off the TransCanada Highway near Moncton.  The structure, once complete, will be one of the largest buildings in New Brunswick.  The new distribution centre will provide the competitiveness to better serve the 43 KENT stores and our Atlantic Canadian customers.
