Best Practices & Continuous Improvement

We rely on the efforts of more than 2,000 dedicated employees and contractors working to consistently improve our forest management programs. These people, including 200 professional foresters and technicians, are involved in all aspects of forestry, including:

  • Nurseries and seed production
  • Tree planting and stand tending
  • Planning, modeling, growth and yield monitoring
  • Road construction and maintenance
  • Harvesting and transportation
  • Wood procurement and sales
  • Fish, wildlife, recreational and environmental management
  • Forest fire and other forest protection activities
  • Research, development and continuous improvement

We are proud of our forest management programs, and we take our responsibility to protect the environment seriously. That is why our forest management plans look 100 years into the future and are environmentally certified through independent audits.
