Celebrating National Construction Day in Canada
National Construction Day is an opportunity to thank the dedicated employees who help build and connect communities across Canada. It’s a chance to recognize the contributions of construction professionals who strengthen Canada’s infrastructure and economy while making safety and quality a top priority.
J.D. Irving, Limited’s Construction & Equipment Division is made up of 1,200 dedicated team members that keep projects moving. In 2025, this team’s commitment to safety and quality resulted in the achievement of multiple safety milestones:
- Irving Wallboard achieved an incredible 10 years with no lost-time incidents : Read Here
- Gulf Operators reached one million hours worked safely and marked one year without a lost-time or recordable incident :Read Here
- CFM celebrated one full year with no lost-time incidents:Read Here
- The Construction & Equipment Division achieved a recordable incident rate (RIR) of 1.2. The RIR calculation uses the number of recordable incidents and hours worked by a business to compare safety performance based on 100 employees working full time for one year.
