Midland wins Trucking HR diversity and inclusion award

Midland has been awarded the Trucking HR Canada Excellence Award for Workplace Diversity and Inclusion. The award recognizes the company’s commitment to fostering diversity and inclusion in the workplace. A few actions that stood out to Trucking HR were:

  • Midland’s three-year diversity and inclusion strategy, and its alignment with the company’s values.
  • Midland’s gender dashboard that tracks gender representation, hiring rates, and promotions.
  • The addition of an all-gender washroom at its head office.
  • The organization’s maternity leave top up program.

“Midland is focused on creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome, appreciated, and encouraged to be themselves. We want all of our employees to feel like they belong at our company and feel safe to speak up and express their views. We strive to have a diverse employee population and have recently created new roles in international recruitment and immigrant settlement to attract and hire double digit numbers of transport drivers from countries around the world,” says Johanna Klompmaker, Vice President, Human Resources, Midland.
