In The People Business

For Claire Pearson, it’s all about connecting with people. Growing up in the small community of Springfield, New Brunswick, she has always enjoyed forming connections with others and sought out a career that would allow her to do so every day. Now working as the Human Resources Co-op Student with the Pulp & Paper Division for the summer she has received hands-on work experience in the field that she is passionate about.

“Working for the Pulp & Paper Division, I’ve been able to visit our different mills and have been exposed to many different aspects of our operations,” says Claire. “But the best part has been the people! Everyone is so friendly and supportive. There’s a comradery within the division that makes coming to work every day so enjoyable.”

As she enters her final year of the Bachelor of Business Administration program at the University of New Brunswick, she is excited to see how her new human resources knowledge will translate into her academics.

“This summer, I’ve gained a lot of practical work experience by creating job requisitions, analyzing applications, scheduling interviews, to just name a few of my tasks,” says Claire. “This opportunity has also simply allowed me to gain a solid foundation as I look to start my career after I graduate.”

The Pulp & Paper Division is always looking for hard working, motivated students to join our team. Look at our current student opportunities here.
