“I can honestly say our slogan ‘Join One, Grow With Many’ holds true,” says Mark Thibodeau, the Operations Manager at Lake Utopia Paper. “Over my fifteen-year career with JDI, I’ve had the opportunity to work in various roles that have helped me gain invaluable knowledge and experience that has grown my career.”

Mark Thibodeau joined JDI as the Mechanical Team Leader at Irving Paper in 2007. Since then, he has held a variety of maintenance and operations roles at Irving Paper, Irving Tissue, CFM, and most recently, Lake Utopia Paper. 

In 2011, with the company's support, Mark pursued his Masters of Business Administration from the University of New Brunswick. 

“The knowledge I gained through the program helped grow my career drastically,” says Mark. “As I transitioned from a more technical role into a leadership position, the program provided me with foundational knowledge to learn more about how businesses are run.” 

Not only has Mark been able to complete his masters, but he has also completed his Maintenance Management Professional Certification, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification, Bachelor of Technology from Memorial University, and both his Mechanical Engineering Technology and Industrial Control Technology Diplomas from NBCC.  

As a life-long learner, Mark is a prime example of how we invest in our employees to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to become successful leaders.
