Meet Fahim Abrar, Application Engineer at PumpsPlus Limited

Originally from Dhaka, Bangladesh and raised in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, Fahim came to Canada to pursue Mechanical Engineering at Memorial University, Newfoundland and Labrador. He joined PumpsPlus three years ago and has continued to grow as an Application Engineer through a variety of rewarding projects.

Early in his career, Fahim contributed to a successful trial installation in British Columbia, followed by helping secure one of the company’s largest mining projects in Quebec. These experiences have strengthened his confidence and deepened his technical expertise. “I’ve learned a lot in the last three years,” he shares. “Each project has pushed me to grow and take on new challenges, and I have a new confidence in my abilities.”

Fahim enjoys the challenge and variety of his role, where every project is a chance to learn and grow. “Different projects pose different challenges. I love that about my role. Growth comes through overcoming these challenges, and it also makes my job exciting.” With new product lines like Viking Pumps and Farris Engineering, part of the Curtiss-Wright Valves Division, he’s excited by the company’s momentum and his own professional development. Currently an Engineer-In-Training (EIT), Fahim is on track to earn his P.Eng. designation by the end of 2025.

Fahim knows PumpsPlus is the right place to continue growing his career, “We’ve been adding new lines to our existing product offering, and that provides an excellent opportunity for me to learn. As an upcoming P.Eng., my goal is not only to be an asset to my team and company, but also to the entire industry.”

With a passion for learning and a clear path ahead, Fahim is building a strong foundation for a rewarding engineering career...one project and milestone at a time.
