New Westside Dog Park open to public

There is a new place in Saint John where your furry friends can stretch their paws. J.D. Irving, Limited was on hand for the opening of the new Westside Dog Park, along with Saint John’s Chief Canine and Sea Dogs mascot, Fleaburn and partners from the City of Saint John and the West Side Community Dog Group.

“For all of us who work at Saint John’s mill, the westside community are our neighbours. We are happy to have the opportunity to give back,” said Adam Brown, Irving Pulp & Paper Mill Manager. “We are proud to be part of New Brunswick and Atlantic Canada's home team and that's why we work continuously to improve the communities where we live and work.”

This is the first dog park on the Westside of Saint John, providing a safe, friendly place for pups to run, sniff and play. The new park features perimeter fencing, benches, double-gate entry, a separation between large and small dog areas, benches, and waste bag dispensers. It is located at 701 Dever Road (behind the Peter Murray Arena).

The dog park would not be possible without the help and support of the Westside community and our sponsors: Irving Pulp & Paper, Gulf Operators, and NB Southern Railways.
