Celebrating New Brunswick's communities

This New Brunswick Day, J.D. Irving, Limited (JDI) is celebrating the province’s communities and the unique sites and events that make New Brunswick “home.”

New Brunswick is home to many stunning natural areas. The Irving Nature Park in Saint John and the Irving Eco Centre: La Dune de Bouctouche are just two locations to observe our natural beauty and catch a glimpse of wildlife like the Harbour Seal, the Great Blue Heron and the Chickadee, New Brunswick’s provincial bird. Combined, both parks see hundreds of thousands of visitors annually.

JDI also maintains a conservation areas program that features more than 100 sites, like the Coulombs Road Waterfall & Canyon outside Fredericton, where visitors can enjoy views of multiple waterfalls against the backdrop of the site’s canyon. The program also includes locations of historical significance, such as the Delta 673 site near Deersdale, which was the location of Canada’s first aviation fatality in World War II.

Community events play an important role in preserving New Brunswick’s rich culture. JDI is proud to support these events and local talent across the province, from the Mariners Music Fest in Charlotte County to Rendez-Vous des Artistes in northern New Brunswick and the Atlantic Balloon Fiesta in Sussex.

In communities like Chipman, JDI supports newcomers who’ve joined the company’s operations, including investments in language training and education and working with local partners to build housing. These initiatives help with newcomer retention and local population growth, adding diversity and enhancing cultural identity across the province.

Over the holiday weekend, JDI encourages New Brunswickers and visitors alike to get out and discover all that the province has to offer.
