With over 110 years combined experience, RST & Sunbury Transport (RST Sunbury) draw on exceptional teams - in the office and on the road - to provide diverse and innovative trucking and logistics services. Last week, a delegation from the company joined other Canadian trucking companies in attending the 2019 Top Fleet Employers Gala Awards Dinner in Toronto, Ontario. There, it received its second Top Fleet Employer Award, bestowed annually by Trucking HR Canada. RST Sunbury first received the award in 2018.
“This accomplishment would not be possible without a tireless team of dedicated drivers, owner operators, office staff and leaders,” says Andrew Fisher, General Manager. “Our people keep the wheels turning, allowing us to make great strides as an organization in terms of workplace culture, employee engagement, safety and customer service.”
The Top Fleet designation is highly regarded in the industry, and selection criteria is rigorous. Each business is evaluated through interviews with company drivers, owner operators and staff; these interviews touch on recruitment and retention practices, workplace culture, compensation, training and skills development, and innovative HR practices. This process is overseen by a newly created Top Fleet Employers Council to ensure an accurate reflection of HR issues, trends and current working environments.
“Our Top Fleet Employers are leaders in promoting a positive image of the trucking and logistics industry,” comments Angela Splinter, CEO of Trucking HR Canada. “As the competition for skilled workers continues to intensify, their consistently strong HR approaches will help position us as an industry of choice.”
