Become a Tree Planter this summer! Applications due February 10th

JDI Woodlands is currently seeking Tree Planters for the 2017 planting season in the areas of St. Leonard, Fredericton, Saint John, Kennebecasis Valley, and Sackville NB. Interested candidates are encouraged to submit their applications before the February 10th deadline.

The trees we plant make a tremendous contribution towards the reduction of greenhouse gases.  In its lifetime, the average tree will absorb approximately 1 tonne of carbon dioxide (CO2).  Over the next 50 years, the woodlands we own or manage will absorb over 92 million tonnes of CO2. That’s equivalent to taking 18 million cars off the road for one year.

Long-term sustainability is not only vital for responsible forestry, but also to the environment and the economy.  As the reforestation leader in Canada, JDI has planted almost 1 billion trees since 1957 – a national record

Our tree planters are paid based on the number of trees planted – the more you plant, the more you earn.  In addition to these wages, successful tree planters can also receive scholarship money at the end of the season towards tuition at the post-secondary institution they attend. Over the last 15 years, JDI has supported hundreds of tree planters with over $500,000 in scholarships.

If you know of someone who loves the great outdoors and is up for physical challenge, please encourage them to apply as we are looking for high energy, self-motivated individuals to join our team. This opportunity offers a unique experience unlike any other summer job and can also become a fulltime career with JDI down the road.

The deadline for applying is February 10th, 2017.
