“It’s important that residents of Prince Edward Island have access to health care in their own communities,” said Robert K. Irving, President of Cavendish Farms. “This donation will help buy critical equipment and will help refit the three operating rooms that have not been updated since they were built 12 years ago.”

The Annual Grass Roots and Cowboy Boots Fundraiser supports the medical equipment needs of patients at PCH. This year alone, the PCH Foundation is working to raise $2.5 million to purchase medical equipment which includes $1.4 million needed to refit the operating rooms.

“Thanks to the support of Cavendish Farms and others, we raised just over $1.2 million at this year’s event,” said Patrick McSweeney, President of the Prince County Hospital Foundation. “Along with upgrading the operating rooms, the funds will be used to purchase items such as defibrillators, new hospital beds, and much more.”

Guests were treated to an evening filled with music and laughter at one of the largest fundraising events on PEI. Entertainment included Patrick Ledwell, Catherine MacLellan, Laurel Drake, and Neon Moon, among others.

Over 1,500 people attended this year’s Grass Roots and Cowboy Boots event. For more information on the Prince County Hospital Foundation visit www.pchcare.com.
