Celebrating 60 Years: Thank you Tree Planters!

In 1957 J.D. Irving, Limited (JDI) began planting quality seedlings in the fields surrounding Juniper Nursery in New Brunswick. Over the past 60 years the commitment to planting the future forest has never wavered. We've planted almost one billion trees since 1957, a national record in Canada. This summer, with the help of 110 tree planters we planted 16.5 million trees across New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Maine. From planters to student tree planting auditors and tree carers - we couldn't have done it without them.

Here is a short video of our tree planters shot with a 360 camera:

We look forward to sharing news of our tree planting scholarships next week. Scholarships are provided to full-time students - at the high school, university, or community college levels - who work as tree planters during their summer school break and remain for the full planting season. Scholarships range from $500 to $1000 and is paid to the registrar of their university or college towards their tuition. High school students receive a certificate, and know their scholarship is waiting for them when they go on to post-secondary education. Their accumulated awards will be paid towards their tuition costs.
