Maine Northern Railway’s Christmas Train for Kids helped the Kiwanis Club of Presque Isle, Maine raise funds for the community on Saturday, November 30, 2013.

The fun-filled family train ride was complete with Christmas decorations and hot cocoa; even Santa Claus joined the ride.

Maine Northern Railway workers volunteered their time, and the company volunteered the engines and passenger cars to make it all happen.

Maine Northern's Christmas Express made two round trips between Squa Pan and Presque Isle - one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

The event, which sold out within 24 hours, raised over $8,000 dollars for local Kiwanis programs including Christmas food and toy donations for needy families in the region.

Maine Northern Railway is one of three railways within J.D. Irving, Limited's Transportation Division, including New Brunswick Southern Railway and Eastern Maine Railway.
