Welcome Summer Co-op Students!

JDI is pleased to welcome 76 co-op students to the summer term of work experience across all of our divisions in our operations.

We are proud to work with 13 universities and colleges in the areas of information technology, finance, communications, sales, engineering and human resources. Every summer JDI employs about 600 students. This summer 76 of those students are completing co-op work experiences.

“I am so happy I was able to come home and do my co-op here with JDI,” said Kristen Cook, Co-op student from Mount Saint Vincent University. “My father has worked with JDI for over 25 years and I am excited to be working for a company that has supported him throughout his career. JDI is known for seeing the value in their students, and they are always willing to invest in their employees.”

JDI sees the importance of building a skilled workforce and has partnered with local universities and colleges to recruit students to join our team during and after their education.

“We value the relationships we have with local universities and community colleges and the opportunity to engage students through co-op programs. Every summer we are welcoming over 600 students to our various companies across the region,” said Colleen Baxter, Vice President of Human Resources for J.D. Irving, Limited. “This is a great way to meet the next generation of employees and provide them with valuable learning experiences and potential career opportunities. As we look to hire over 7800 people across our operations between 2015 and 2017, co-op and summer student programs are a vital link to skilled and passionate new employees.”
