Kevin McCoy, President of Irving Shipbuilding, presents $1,000 scholarship to Alyssa Millar, daughter of Peter Millar, Facilities Manager, Tooling and Equipment.

Alyssa Miller said receiving the scholarship is a big help as she begins her studies at Mount Saint Vincent University, “Receiving this bursary shows my achievements and accomplishments over the years have been recognized, and that my hard work ethic has paid off. Not only has this bursary alleviated some of the financial pressures of post-secondary education, it helped me to take the next step in furthering my education, bringing me that much closer to reaching my career goal of becoming a registered dietitian. The Irving Shipbuilding Inc. Scholarship has opened up a large road of opportunity for me, something I will be forever thankful for.”

“We are proud to offer scholarships to ISI employees and their family members,” said Brian McCarthy, Vice President of Human Resources for Halifax Shipyard. “Providing the opportunity for continued learning is important to Irving Shipbuilding and the assistance provided by these scholarships will help these students build a solid foundation for their future.”
