Industry and Institution: Fleetway Continues Partnership with Marine Institute

Fleetway team recruits at Marine Institute’s Career Event; connects with 45 students.

Marine Institute (MI) graduates, former Fleetway interns, and recent hires Robyn Moores, Kyle Baker, and Chelsea Edmunds assisted recruitment efforts at a recent Marine Institute’s career event by providing their perspective on being part of the Fleetway team.

The team also provided a formal presentation to introduce students to Fleetway, as well as provide insight into its business overview and opportunities for Naval Architecture and System Design students.

Over 25% of Fleetway engineering staff are Marine Institute grads. Since January 2008, over 50 MI grads and interns have gained employment with Fleetway. In 2016, the company forecasts hiring four interns and approximately three to eight graduate hires.

“Fleetway has had a history of success with its educational partnership with the Marine Institute, said Scott Boulton, Human Resource Manager, Fleetway. “Through our internship program, students get an opportunity to see what a potential career opportunity at Fleetway might look like and many of our interns have gone on to secure permanent employment with us after they have graduated."
