Inspiring the Next Generation of Home Builders: NBTAP Students at Kent Homes

While some high school students were on the beach during their summer break, Colin Cormier and Christopher Fritz were busy getting a head start on their careers, learning all about building houses at Kent Homes.

Colin and Chris are part of the New Brunswick Teen Apprenticeship Program (NBTAP) which facilitates the early connection between industries with skilled trades workers and young New Brunswickers. Over their summer work terms with NBTAP, students are coached and mentored on the job, learning practical trade and workplace skills.

Natasha Arseneault, Senior Human Resource Business Partner at Kent Homes, notes the importance of NBTAP students in their operations, "it enriches the lives of students living in our community, it allows them to explore different career opportunities." Kent Homes is a proud supporter of the NBTAP program. "We really encourage that here, and look forward to doing so in the future" says Natasha.
