Irving Shipbuilding Wins Commercial Projects for Shelburne Ship Repair

The Atlantic Willow, a tugboat owned by Atlantic Towing, will be at Shelburne Ship Repair during the fall season for routine drydocking work.  A couple of additional commercial projects will also keep the skilled tradespeople at Shelburne Ship Repair busy this season.

All three projects will require a total of up to 60 tradespeople to complete.

The Atlantic Willow, built by Irving Shipbuilding at its East Isle Shipyard location in PEI, was commissioned in 1998.

"We're continuing to aggressively bid on commercial and repair projects for all of our facilities," said Kevin McCoy, President of Irving Shipbuilding.  "We'll work hard to secure work for all of our locations to help us maintain more of our skilled trades people here within our workforce," McCoy said.
