Irving Wallboard has celebrated the delivery of 30,000 truck loads and 15,000 rail cars of wallboard since the plant's opening in 2007. The company invited its partners Sunbury Transport and NBM Railways to share in the production milestone - bringing all three companies together for the celebration.
"This is a celebration not just of these milestones but all the milestones achieved over the last ten years - the grit and the positive attitude of everyone here is what's brought the business to this point," said Jenna Hazelton, General Manager of Irving Wallboard.
Guests arrived to see the Irving Wallboard warehouse entrance flanked by a Sunbury Truck on the right, and a line of NBM Railways' rail cars on the left - all loaded with wallboard product. It was an impressive show of unity and collaboration.
"Irving Wallboard is a valued customer, generating jobs for our company. We are dedicated to delivering their product to cities in the US and Canada," said Andrew Fisher, General Manager of Sunbury Transport, "To have a common goal of working together shows that anything is possible."
"The team at NBM Railways is proud to serve as a primary link between Irving Wallboard and its customers from Alberta to New Jersey," added Ian Simpson, General Manager of NBM Railways.
Irving Wallboard opened its doors in 2008, in the midst of a global recession and collapse of the housing market. After more than a decade in operation, the team has grown from 48 employees at start-up to 101 employees today. The plant operates on four shifts, with the capacity for 24/7 production. Irving Wallboard has shipped their product to 273 locations across nine provinces and 5 states. They have shipped as far West as Calgary, AB and as far south as Elizabeth, NJ.
