J.D. Irving, Limited and the Town of St. George Renewable Land Use Agreement for Nine Sites
J.D. Irving, Limited (JDI) and the Town of St. George have signed a renewable land use agreement for nine sites to be enjoyed by the community and visitors on land owned by JDI.
The sites include:
1.Canal Beach
2.Riverview Trail
3.Main Street Trail
4.Ducks Unlimited Trails
5.Eagles Nest Picnic Area
6.Day Adventure Centre
7.Maine Street Picnic Area
8.Upper Gorge Lot
9.South Street Bridge Area
“These nine sites will be familiar to many in our community as well as visitors to St. George,” said Mayor Crystal Cook. “These are special places to enjoy and appreciate St. George’s wonderful natural surroundings with family and friends. JDI recognizes and supports this. They have been a real partner in working with the town to provide access to their neighbours.”
“I am thrilled at the possibilities this opens for St George. It gives greater opportunity to showcase our natural beauty for both locals and visitors to our area,” said Minister Andrea Anderson-Mason, Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Fundy the Isles Saint John West.
“We have been part of the St. George community for almost 60 years and many of our employees live here,” explained Robert Fawcett, Director Corporate Relations, JDI Woodlands. “We are pleased to work with the town on projects like this that promote outdoor recreation and enjoyment of the unique wetland areas by the community and visitors.”
