January 12 - Media Update Regarding J.D Irving Limited Operations On Bayside Drive, Saint John, N.B

MEDIA UPDATE REGARDING J.D. IRVING, LIMITED OPERATIONS ON BAYSIDE DRIVE, SAINT JOHN N.B.

Multiple air tests through the night have confirmed zero readings of butane at Irving Wallboard, Irving Paper and or Bayside Drive Offices.  In addition, tests were also completed to confirm zero butane readings at our water and sewers lines.  As a precautionary measure Irving Paper will continue monitoring as the mill begins start up.

Employees are being advised regarding the resumption of operations at these sites. Full operations are resuming today.

We appreciate the support of monitoring experts, the Saint John Fire Department and Irving Oil in completing over 75 tests and site inspections to confirm the safety of these operations.

We also thank the teams at Irving Paper who have worked tirelessly to ensure the safety of the employees at the mill and our Bayside Drive sites impacted by this difficult situation.

We appreciate the patience of all employees as we worked to ensure the safety of our workforce and the site.
