JDI and Royale Tissue™ Support the Big Cats Campaign with $100,000 Donation to the Moncton Zoo

The Magnetic Hill Zoo in Moncton, NB is getting closer to their fundraising goal thanks to a significant corporate donation from JDI and Royale Tissue™, a J.D. Irving, Limited company.

The zoo’s Big Cats Campaign began a year ago with a goal of $1.4 million for a new big cat exhibit, set to open next summer.  Jeremy Nelson, past president of Friends of the Zoo, Inc. and chairman of the Big Cats Campaign, said with the $100,000 donation from Royale, the total funds have well surpassed the $1.1 million mark.

This is one of the largest projects undertaken by the zoo, and it is set to be a beautiful exhibit in an already wonderful zoo. The donations received through this campaign will be used to build an Asian section in the zoo, which will include Amur tigers, Amur leopards, and red pandas, and relocate the zoo's existing white-handed gibbons and Reeves' muntjacs.

The zoo is consistently one the province's top attractions and sees an average of about 130,000 visitors a year.
