JDI Welcomes 360 Summer Students and Counting!

In the past two weeks, 360 students and counting from 35 universities and colleges donned new suits and new uniforms for day one of their JDI summer work experience.

If they’re working in a mill sharpening their engineering skills, or head office learning the ropes of information technology these students have one thing in common; they’re in for a summer of real projects and learning with JDI.

Proud of Our Track Record
We asked our former co-op students who spent their spring semester with us in 2018 if they’d consider JDI for full time employment. 100% of the 70 students responded after their co-op experience with the JDI team they would consider a full-time job offer after graduating.

In the Family
Brothers Mark and John both had day one of their JDI co-op this week. Lucky for them, there was at least one familiar face at the Saint John head office – their older brother Alex.

Alex completed three co-ops at JDI and then was hired on full time. He’s pleased both his brothers found summer jobs with the IT Division and JDI Finance respectively.

Planting Future Forests
This summer 120 students are joining our Woodlands team planting future forests. We're looking forward to planting our one billionth tree this summer!

Giving Back from Week One

Caleb Waite and his tree planting crew volunteered to fill and deliver sandbags to homes affected by the New Brunswick flood. JDI volunteers filled and helped deliver over 122,000 bags of sand.
