Learning Partnership Tribute

The Learning Partnership honoured Mr. J.K. Irving, Chairman of J.D. Irving, Limited with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his lifelong commitment to the youth of New Brunswick at a Tribute luncheon in Saint John on September 13, 2013.

"It is very gratifying to be recognized in this manner, but in accepting this award I really feel it is a tribute to the many companies, organizations, and individual citizens who have come together to make a difference in the life and future of our children," Mr. Irving said.

Mr. Irving believes that partnerships succeed because of the caring commitment of the people working at the schools.  "Our educators are a very dedicated group who go above and beyond to help their students become the very best they can be, and they deserve our support," Irving said.
Mr. J.K. Irving also received The Learning Partnership Champion of Education award in 2007.

Funds raised at the event support The Learning Partnership programs in New Brunswick, including Welcome to Kindergarten™/ Bienvenue à la Maternelle MC.

Offered across Canada, this early learning program is currently available in every New Brunswick elementary school in both Anglophone and Francophone sectors.  Welcome to Kindergarten™/Bienvenue à la MaternelleMC provides literacy and numeracy strategies and resources to help parents prepare their children for kindergarten and a lifetime of learning.
