Sixty-Six recalled employees started work at Halifax Shipyard last week.  The recall comes in the wake of the arrival of HMCS St John’s and the M.T. Havelstern.

The main project driving the need for more employees is the major refit of HMCS St. John’s.  These employees will also aid in commercial repair work and maintenance on the M.T. Havelstern.
 
HMCS St. John’s arrived in Halifax Shipyard’s graving dock at high tide early in the morning on Friday, January 10.  This is the fifth of seven major refits to be completed under the FELEX Mid-Life Extension program.

The M.T. Havelstern, a sister ship to the M.T. Travestern, entered the Halifax Shipyard’s dock on Thursday, January 9 for routine maintenance and repair work.  The Coastal Shipping Ltd. vessel is expected to be in dock for approximately 30 days.
