Skilled Trades at JDI – Sean’s Story …and We’re Hiring

Our newest wave of TV ads focus on the careers of J.D. Irving, Limited employees such as Sean Thomas, Electrical Apprentice in the Electrical and Instrumentation shop of Irving Tissue in Saint John, and the NB education that set him on course for a rewarding career.

After graduating from NBCC’s Industrial Controls Technology program and completing three work terms with J.D. Irving, Limited, Sean was hired on full-time as an Electrical Apprentice. “The teachers at NBCC are great at preparing you to work in an industrial environment,” said Sean.

A resident of Hampton, New Brunswick, the idea of staying close to home is something that always appealed to him. “Many feel they need to move out West for work, but for me, it wasn’t really a choice. Family is number one,” Sean explained. He enjoys the opportunities for continuous learning and development provided by JDI.

Today, JDI is proud to have almost 1500 NBCC-CCNB grads on our team. 97% are working here at home in New Brunswick.
