(Halifax, NS) – At 1pm today, we informed our workforce that we are immediately suspending all industrial operations at Halifax Shipyard, Marine Fabricators and Woodside Industries for a three-week period (see attached announcement). The three-week period may be reduced or extended as circumstances change.  

While we are suspending industrial operations, we will continue support operations that can more reasonably comply with health authority guidelines during this COVID-19 crisis. 

This suspension of all industrial operations will impact approximately 1,100 of our 1,800 personnel. 

To ease the financial impact of this decision, all active unionized employees will be paid their regular base wages for Friday, March 20th and for the week of March 23rd.   

We continue to expand work from home options and other flexible work measures for remaining staff.
