In 2017 J.D. Irving, Limited (JDI) will be welcoming over 650 students across our operations. This summer we had the pleasure of having over 380 students join us from 31 post-secondary institutions throughout Canada. These students had the chance to experience our divisions firsthand, and garner a better understanding of what their future careers might look like. 

Eric Atkinson, a UNB Fredericton co-op student, has worked 2 consecutive terms with JDI’s IT Division at N.B. Southern Railway as a Business Analyst. During his time with the company Eric has developed numerous dashboards for the Transportation Division, focusing on analytics and helping to increase overall efficiency of the group. “My co-op has been incredibly insightful. I have been able to apply my education to real-world situations on a daily basis. I would recommend a co-op with JDI any day of the week.”

Summer students are hired during the first weeks of May and stay with the company until the end of August. Each student experience is different, as the company offers such a variety of positions across our diversified divisions. This is a great learning opportunity for students, as well as employers.
