Saint John, NB:  Twenty-year-old Alex Simpson from Rothesay, New Brunswick is the recipient of the J.D. Irving, Limited Accounting Incentive Award.  The third-year business student from University of New Brunswick’s Fredericton campus received a $3,000 award payable toward his education and an   accounting work term position with JDI Finance in Saint John.

Alex is currently working towards a Business Administration degree at UNB Fredericton.  He graduates in May 2015 and plans to pursue a Professional Accounting designation.  A graduate of Rothesay High School, Alex’s first exposure to JDI was as a Logistics Summer Student for Irving Transportation Services.

“I am extremely honoured and grateful to have been selected for the J.D. Irving Accounting Incentive Award.  I am thankful for the opportunity and am extremely excited to get started with the organization," said Alex.  

The Accounting Incentive Award is awarded annually to third-year business students with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 with plans to pursue an accounting designation.
