University of New Brunswick Saint John Student receives J.D. Irving, Limited Accounting Incentive Award

Twenty four-year-old Nick Bartlett from St. Andrews, NB is the 5th recipient of the annual J.D. Irving, Limited Accounting Incentive Award.  The third-year business student from the University of New Brunswick’s Saint John (UNBSJ) campus received a $3,000 award payable towards his education. Nick has also received an accounting work term position with the JDI Finance team in Saint John.

Nick, a high school graduate from Sir James Dunn Academy, is currently completing a Business Administration degree at UNBSJ majoring in accounting.  Upon graduation in May 2016, Nick plans to pursue a professional accounting designation.

“Words cannot describe how appreciative I am to have been selected for the J.D. Irving Accounting Incentive Award,” says Bartlett “I am honoured to be given the opportunity to start my career path with a company that is willing to invest in my education.”

The Accounting Incentive Award is awarded annually to a third-year business student with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 and plans to pursue a career in accounting.

“We continue to be very impressed with the caliber of individuals that apply for this program, which is indicative of the considerable talent that we have in the Atlantic region.” said Kent Legge, Vice President – Finance, J.D. We are proud to continue our support of students in our region who are interested in pursuing careers in accounting. It’s an exciting time to be a part of JDI Finance, and we are thrilled to have potential future leaders, such as Nick, join the team.”

JDI continues to seek and hire qualified accountants and business graduates, as part of its continuing support for students focused on careers in the field of accounting.
