Extensive testing began at Irving Paper this afternoon where butane levels were detected yesterday.  We are about half way through the first round of tests.  Results received as of 6:00 PM are indicating NO detection of butane at those tested Irving Paper locations.

We expect all testing for Irving Paper, Irving Wallboard and our Bayside offices to be completed through the night.  At this time, we anticipate the Bayside offices opening tomorrow morning and will be updating employees at 7:00 AM.

Continued positive test results will mean call backs and duty assignments for employees of the Irving Paper and Irving Wallboard will begin mid-morning tomorrow.

We continue to work with third party experts as well as the Saint John Fire Department and Irving Oil.  We appreciate the dedication of all involved in ensuring the safety of employees who work at these sites.  This is our top priority.
