Every spring the Department of Transportation places weight restrictions on public roads due to the “spring break up”, which is when the frost is coming out of the ground.  During this time we like to remind private woodlot owners that our mills are still buying private wood.

Did you know?  Since April 1, 2012, JDI mills have purchased over $18 million of wood from NB private woodlots.   JDI mills purchased this private wood from 788 wood producers, but it is interesting to note that 80 percent of the wood was supplied by just 12 percent of the producers.  Over 400 producers each sold us only one or two truckloads during the year.
