We Hire New Grads - Proud to Partner with New Brunswick Colleges and Universities

Our university and college partners produce excellent graduates who become leaders in our organization.

We’re delighted to partner with several Atlantic Canadian universities and colleges, including New Brunswick Community College, the University of New Brunswick and Université de Moncton.

Our new video highlights these partnerships.

Career Opportunities

We're reaching out to our educational partners with co-op programs, case competitions, equipment donations, scholarships, and paid internships.

The JDI team will welcome over 2,000 internship and co-op work terms between 2016 and 2018 – that’s over 650 students each year!

“When we look at our three-year forecast from 2016-2018, 89% of the positions we need to fill are in the Atlantic provinces,” said Jeff Green, Director of Talent Recruitment with JDI. “65% of those jobs are within New Brunswick and Nova Scotia alone.”

Across our organization, the operations with the highest job opportunities include retail business, manufacturing operations, shipbuilding, supply chain, logistics, and engineering.

In 2015, we hired 4,239 people across our operations; this includes over 100 new university and college graduates from the class of 2015. 60 of these new graduates work in our New Brunswick operations.

We’ve already started hiring from the class of 2016. The six graduates pictured below just completed their degrees at UNB; they walked across the stage knowing they were walking into a career at JDI.

 Brody Stanley

"I'm very excited to join the team at JDI because it will allow me to use the skills I have learned in the Power Engineering program at NBCC in real life applications. The great thing about JDI is that I will be able to stay in New Brunswick with all of my family and friends. I am grateful to be with a company that allows me to have such a bright future in a great province." - Brody Stanley, 2016 NBCC Graduate, joining the team at Irving Pulp and Paper.

“When I started the Mechanical Technician program at NBCC I knew I wanted to be a millwright, and after my first work term with JDI I knew I wanted a career with them. Now, as I am graduating, I get to go right into my career at Irving Pulp and Paper and not have to move from my home." - Andrew Fowler, NBCC Grad 2016, joining the team at Irving Pulp and Paper as a Mechanical Technician in Saint John.

“I received valuable experience throughout my work terms with JDI. Now I’m excited to start my career and continue my growth at Irving Tissue while working in a challenging field and being able to stay in my hometown.” - Brad Badger, NBCC grad 2016.

Nick Cormier

“Starting a new career can be challenging and flat out scary. So to be offered a great career with JDI is very fulfilling. I know I will receive the support I need and opportunities to grow. I can't wait to start!” - Nick Cormier, NBCC grad 2016.

 Emmanuella N'Taho

"This is my dream job: challenges, limitless opportunities to develop my professional and personal skills, and excellent colleagues, manager, and atmosphere. I've been here for one month and it's so satisfying already being fully involved in projects, and having my voice heard when I make recommendations to positively impact the business. Thumbs up for JDI!" - Emmanuella  N'Taho, Université  de Moncton graduate 2016.
