Welcome Summer Students!

 

J.D. Irving, Limited (JDI) is pleased to welcome approximately 340 summer students across our operations this summer.

JDI is looking forward to working with students from 36 universities and colleges who are working towards broadening their skills and knowledge in the areas of Transportation and Logistics, Retail, Corporate Services, Media, Consumer Products, Shipbuilding, Construction & Equipment, Pulp & Paper, Woodlands, Sawmills, and Agriculture.

We are confident that you will have a great experience and look forward to hearing your feedback as you work through the next few months,” said Colleen Baxter, Vice President, Human Resources.

Gaelyn McMackin is an accounting co-op student who is excited to be back with JDI for a second work term. 

“This summer will be my second work term with JDI Finance. I really appreciate the way that I am challenged in such a positive workplace. As a student, I am given valuable tasks and the opportunity to gain so much experience. JDI can definitely give me everything I need to advance my future career as an accountant.” 

JDI employs approximately 600 students each year. This semester our students are joining us from the following universities/colleges:

“I am very excited to be working with an organization that has such a great reputation in our community. I’m looking forward to spending my summer gaining invaluable knowledge through my co-op,” says Emily Leet, Public Relations Co-op Student from Mount Saint Vincent University. “I used to drop my father off at work every day at the JDI head office and picture myself someday doing the same.”
