Welcoming Our 2017 Summer Students

In 2017, J.D. Irving, Limited (JDI) will welcome over 650 students across our operations. From retail to shipbuilding and more. For the summer term, over 380 students, 67 of which are co-op students, have joined our operations.

Ethan O’Neil is a first time student employee at JDI. He is a Dalhousie University Student from Quispamsis, New Brunswick. Ethan is spending his summer working as a Fleet Manager for petroleum black product and dry bulk at RST Sunbury. “I applied to JDI because it’s a great company. For young students who are just getting started they offer lots of training and growth opportunities. I’ve only been here for a week and the amount of knowledge I’m gaining of the trucking company and industry is incredible.”

Starting the first and second week of May until the end of August, students are hired to work in many different divisions of the company. From Mechanical Engineers in the Pulp & Paper Division to Fleet Managers in the Transportation & Logistics division there will be many learning opportunities for our students.
