Saint John, N.B. -- RST-Sunbury Transport are proud to announce they have been named an Employment Equity Champion as part of the 2023 Employment Equity Achievement Awards. Presented by the federal Minister of Labour and Seniors, Hon. Seamus O'Regan Jr., the awards recognize federally regulated private-sector employers as well as federal contractors who demonstrate a commitment to a diverse and inclusive workspace and employment equity.

RST-Sunbury's executive team has been recognized for their record of championing employment equity within the organization, as well as the business' overall contribution to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

"We understand the importance of employment equity and we're proud to advocate for our team members while providing a working environment that ensures everyone is on the same footing," says Kristin Henderson, Divisional Human Resource Director. 

"We're honoured to be recognized for the steps we've taken so far in our DEI program," said Andrew Fisher, Group Vice-President of the Transportation and Logistics Division. "We know that inclusion and equity is a mindset, and we will continue to forge a path with our employees top of mind.”

The Employment Equity Awards are broken down into five categories, this year with 34 awards being presented to 19 employers:

• Employment Equity Champion
• Indigenous reconciliation
